Our mission

Common Ground Consultancy exists to help people, organisations and partnerships work better together in real life, not just on paper.

We focus on the places where health, care, housing, community and the third sector meet. The work is about making sense of complexity, joining priorities together and keeping people’s real circumstances in view. That can mean supporting strategy, governance and service change, or simply creating space for honest conversations that move things forward. The aim is always the same: practical, credible change that partners can stand behind.

Maureen Allan

Founder

Maureen has many years’ experience across health, care, housing and the third sector in Scotland. She began her career as a Registered Nurse with NHS Lothian, founded and successfully ran a care at home company for 18 years, and has also worked in local authority housing support. She later became Chief Officer of a third sector interface, leading community development, governance and networks, and working with statutory partners on shared strategic objectives.

She brings real, down-to-earth and practical support, and is not afraid to offer constructive challenge when it helps people, organisations and partnerships navigate change. Her focus is on making sense of complexity, building trust and turning shared aims into work that actually happens.
